Hi,
Please could anyone tell me the prices of the optional tours? These are:

Pompeii
Montecassino
Sorrento/ Capri
The guided sightseeing tour of Rome
Vatican and Sistine Chapel tour
Castel Gandolfo and Frascati

Also, if anyone has any ideas on the general cost of food/soft drinks/meals/sandwiches it would be appreciated. Thanks to all!

Austrian Sound of Music Tour

I was wondering what the overnight travel to Austria is like I have paid extra for the Silver Service Coach,:unsure:also I am not interested in the optional Innsbrucke trip due to going there a couple of times,so was wondering what there is to see in the area we are supposed to stay at.

Any advice would be appreciated,the last trip I did with Leger was last year when I did the all inclusive trip to Switzerland,and the Glacier Express I would say to date it was the best holiday I have had with Leger Holidays.:)

Has anybody been on The Rome Pompei and Capri tour and stayed at the Holiday Hotel in Fiuggi as I can't find anything helpful on the internet and it is not mentioned in the Leger booklet. I was hoping to find out what amenities they had and what the local restaurants were like. I hope somebody can help. Regards jcr

Has anyone an opinion on this optional tour? It's just that there is very little spare time, and I wondered if I might benefit from a "free" afternoon, or if I am missing something great? Bearing in mind I have a fear of heights, I am wondering if I might not appreciate it fully. I did a web-search, and from some of the photos, there is no way I would venture on some of the walkways!

My wife and I are looking to pay a visit to Austria with Leger, but on checking out the hotel used in the Gems of Austria tour (Sport Berger Hotel), I have found a number of recent reports stating that the hotel is not up to a 4* standard in both food and accommodation. It has also been noted that it is certainly not the place to go for peace and quiet with music thumping through the hotel until the early hours of the morning.

I was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience of the hotel and could give me their opinions of it?

We are specifically looking at this tour as it visits the Grossglockner glacier.

Alternatively we may choose the little trains tour. Does anyone know if in Niederau (where the hotels are for the little trains tour) there is a travel agent/operator that could book us on to a Grossglockner glacier tour for one of the days that's marked as optional in the itinery?

rhine xmas markets cruise

i have just booked this holiday for my wife and myself for the 8th december 2008.

does anyone have any experience of these xmas market cruises.
in particular any info on the ship ms prinses juliana,are the cabins ok is there plenty of room on board and most of all are the crew friendly and polite.

how do you get from the ship to the markets,do you have to walk and if so is it far.

any info or tips would be appreciated.

we have been on a couple of other leger holidays staying in hotels and apart from not liking the tour guide on our first holiday we have enjoyed these leger holidays on the whole.so we are looking forward to our cruise on the 8th.

Has anyone travelled on the Silver Service coaches on the seats in front of the washroom & stairs? The brochure says that there is slightly less room, but I was wondering how much worse these seats are than than the usual Silver Service seats. Thanks.:)

Hi to any one going on this holiday on 20/09/08, I have just done a google search on the hotel and got this info Bad Sernaus is a holiday resort out side Klosters and was founded in the 15th century,it's famous for its sulpher baths.

Kurhotel is a 3XXX and has the following,Restaurant,Terrace Garden,lift.games room,liberary,jacuzzi,indoor swimming pool,hotel lounges and restaurants furnished wirh antique furniture and paintings,rooms furnished in Swiss Rustic Fashiom.

Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers on the 20th, I'm starting from Peterborough,is any one else joining here?

Hiya. I am in desperate need of a holiday and I am looking at going round 25th October, this is the only time I can get away. I have been looking at all the trips that go at that time and I am particularly interested in the 9 day trip to Lake Garda or the 9 day trip to Spain. I will be travelling alone but if the single suppliment comes into the equation I don't think I can affort it. I know that some holidays have 4 spaces for single who do not have to pay the suppliment. Could you tell me if there are any of these spaces available on these trips going on 25th October. We're off on the Sorrento & Neoplitan Riviera trip on 6th Sept, can you adsvise of the latest costs of the optional trips. I believe these are:

Pompeii & Vesuvius, Isle Of Capri, and Amalfi Drive. Are there any others?

I know when I went on this trip last year, we had the use of local guides in Pisa, Sorrento, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Capri, Amalfi Drive and Rome but can't remember exaxctly whether we had to pay extra to the above costs for these can you advise?

We also had the options of boat trips for about 12 Euro, each trip at Capri and Amalfi. Are we likely to be offered these this year?

Just need this info so that I can ensure I take enough money.

I am trying to book the trip to Austria & Prague leaving on 17th May. We need to be picked up and dropped off at Ludlow in Shropshire. However, when we try to select this as our departure point, Ludlow isn't on the 'Outbound' dropdown list. It is however on the 'Inbound' dropdown list!!?

Anybody any ideas? The office is now closed so can't ring them til tomorrow. This is so annoying. I've spent all weekend researching where to go, which tour to choose. And now I've come to book, I can't!! Aaaarrgghh!

We have previously flown on all our other holidays and just fancied a change and decided on trying a coaching holiday.

Anyone have any feedback on Gasthof Kordiler and the village it's located in? There isn't much on the internet about St Peter, but it looks gorgeous - is it a really tiny village, or are there other shops, bars, hotels etc? I understand the proprietor at Gasthof Kordiler, a lady called Trudy, is very nice. What kind of fare is served for the included dinners? Any info would be really helpful - cheers.

A great start for anyone who has booked for the Austria All inclusive SILVER SERVICE tour on 22/09/2007. A letter today from Michele Roebuck of Leger Customer Relations to inform us all that due to their inability to organise a SILVER SERVICE coach from Calais to Brussels this first part of the holiday will be by STANDARD ie "Executive" less leg room coach. We are assured that this coach "will be of high specification and very comfortable" - makes you wonder why you bothered booking a SILVER SERVICE holiday. Oh and by they way there is NO offer of any form of compensation, not even maybe free coffee on the "Executive" coach. Do you too, like me, remember those days when there was such a thing called "Goodwill" where a company prized itself on doing the right thing and not hiding behind their "Terms and Conditions" ?

Come on Leger you can do better for those of us on this tour !!

We have recently booked our first coaching holiday and found the Leger site very helpful in deciding exactly where we wanted to go. Its extensive and informative content also gave us much food for thought for any future holidays we may take.

It is a bit dissapointing however that the Forum is not used as much as it could be as there must be people out there with a lot of advice etc. to give as regards the good (and even) bad things experiences they have had. The places one must see, the things one must do.

I'm thinking about going to Thailand in May and I have started checking up prices for flights. The cheapest option seems to be China Airlines. I have never used them before so I'm not really sure what to expect. Has anyone got any recent experience with this airliner? Is there enough legroom? What is the service like on economy? Is there a personal TV screen in each seat?

Hotel Iva Diano Marina Italy

I have stayed at the Hotel Iva on two previous occasions in the last five years with mi partner and must say that it is a very pleasent family run hotel. The Barla family a very nice and friendly and only to happy to help there guests. The hotel is on a bit of an incline with steps leading down to the front, not siutable for wheel chairs, you can walk down the main road but as with all Italian roads it can be a bit tricky, especially the way they driv, no proper footpath. If you walk with sticks or are particularly bad on your pins this hotel is not for you.

Once you get onto the sea front they have a lovely long flat paved prom which is very pleasant to walk along. The shops and food are really good and they have a market that seems to go on for ever a couple of times a week. The people are very helpful and friendly. Monte Carlo and Monaco are well, you have to go just to look how the other half live. All in all this is one of the best places we have been in Italy and we enjoyed more than Lake Garda or Sorrento. Although Venice is another story.
